Most recently, Tarek led the CVRM Established Brands for Emerging Markets at AstraZeneca, where he was responsible for overseeing the brand strategy and performance in 29 countries across international emerging markets. In this role, he boosted AstraZeneca's position in the CVRM audit market as the #1 CVRM company in UAE and gained the #1 position in SGLT2Is for Forxiga Fr. in UAE. Additionally, Tarek managed the HCP strategy while integrating new extended indications for Forxiga, skillfully managing change and mobilizing the HCP strategy around a common goal to differentiate versus competition with scientific-based evidence.
